Tottenham forward Son Heung-min has been named the best footballer of 2022 in Asia.


The 30-year-old South Korean international scored 256 points in the poll and won the award for the sixth year in a row, with eight awards in total.


Second place in the voting among Asian football journalists and experts with 120 points was shared by Mehdi Taremi (Porto, Iranian national team) and Salem Al-Dosari (Al-Hilal, Saudi Arabian national team).


The top 5 also included Napoli and South Korea defender Kim Min-jae and Japan and Brighton winger Kaoru Mitoma.
