Holstein Kiel could be punished for a fan banner about Jurgen Klopp. On Saturday, the club from Kiel lost to Leipzig in the match analyzed by 11livestream of the 13th round of the Bundesliga (0:2).
During the game, Holstein fans in the west stand displayed a poster showing Jurgen Klopp, Red Bull`s head of global football, Martin Kind, former Hannover managing director, Dietmar Hopp, former Hoffenheim sponsor, and Red Bull chief Oliver Mintzlaff in the crosshairssight and are called the gravediggers of German football.
Above the banner, fans held a large tombstone-shaped banner reading 50+1, a reference to the German club ownership rule: 50%+1 of the club`s shares must be owned by a non-profit supporters` association.
Holstein President Steffen Schneekloth strongly condemned the content of this choreography and said that depicting people at gunpoint was unacceptable. He noted that the club stands for tolerance, openness and respect. We do not accept this way of treating people and we sincerely apologize to those affected.
Holstein will conduct an internal investigation and review of the incident as soon as possible and reserves the right to take appropriate action. According to the club, the performance was not approved or announced, and its organizers are damaging the reputation of the club, which they claim to support, at a national level.
On Sunday, the German Football Association (DFB), at the request of the SID agency, confirmed that the union`s Control Committee will investigate the events that occurred on Saturday.
