According to Ser Catalunya, the process of accounting for income from this transaction, which is carried out by the new audit company Crowe Global (replaced Grant Thornton), led to the fact that Barcelona had to postpone financial statements for the first half of the season in La Liga.
The sale of the VIP there was to help the Catalan club reach the rule 1 to 1, which allows you to spend as much on transfers as the team earned on sales. Barcelona restored this status in January, but until the end of March the club was supposed to submit an intermediate financial report to La Liga, based on the data as of December 31, 2024.
In it, income from the sale of VIP seats in the new stadium should have been taken into account. However, Crowe Global has not yet approved the inclusion of these funds in the reporting, since this money has not yet become the real income of the club.
Until this issue is settled, Barcelona will not be able to act again within the framework of Rules 1 to 1, which jeopardizes the process of financial recovery of the club.
